Spectrum OE 5802 good for shock absorbers

Not very good. Pretty optimistic. Not enough recoil. While they come with a lifetime warranty that even covers wear and tear, they act as if they're worn when they're new.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No instructions

85 Gbody special - shocks, struts and suspension

Rides great on an 85 Monte Carlo. Good smooth ride, modern car feel again, no more boat feel. This pair is a great match for Acdelco springs.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Protection

still not as good as the old yellow gas

Driveability is ok but still has a little more bounce compared to the discontinued original gas mate which didn't have sensor valves.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Only available in white

Monroe 5802 Sensa-Trac dampers

I installed them on my 1969 Chevelle SS and they work great. Easy to install, comfort and ride are perfect. The price was great. What more do you want.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Monroe Sensa Trac Damper

Monroe dampers and struts are the only way out. best buy on the market. Never buy scythe racks. Bought a pair and returned one within 2 weeks. changed to Monroe. The scythes come with a warranty, but until you take them off, replace them, and adjust the front end, it's going to be a pain in the ass. Spend a few more dollars and buy Monroe and you'll have hard cash

Pros
  • Constant Test Results
Cons
  • Compatibility

Economical rear shock absorber replacement for GM G-body vehicles.

I have a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass that really needed shock absorbers. I bought these new rear shocks for only $15 each. They took a few hours and a bit of effort to install, but they were worth the money. Benefits Significantly improved driving performance and reduced driving noise. Comes with replacement hardware to make installation a breeze. Cons Not the highest quality shocks but worth the money for an older car.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
