No sound at low frequencies

The radio in our Saab is difficult to properly replace and while I intend to do so at some point, it won't be any time soon. We bought this to replace an old cassette adapter that didn't have treble. Stereo sounds great when playing a CD in h/k mode. This monster adapter improved high frequency output but completely devoid of low frequencies. I had hoped for much better. The cassette body adapts to different types of cassette players, so I changed the wiring to fit into the radio from the "B"…

Switches left and right channels

Pros: This cassette adapter is basically pretty good and its basic sound quality is better than the cheaper adapter I've used. It doesn't overwhelm the tape input that easily; That means it handles louder inputs better than the cheaper options I've used. The build quality is better than expected. Cons: Just one and it's something that a lot of people might not care about or even necessarily notice, but for me it's a major con and almost a deal breaker. For some reason this adapter flips the…

So far so good - Portable Audio Video

I have to say straight away that I just received this product so I can't comment on its durability. But I found the sound quality amazing. This week I received a used early 2000's Honda CR-V from my brother. Unfortunately, the car has a CD player and a cassette slot, but no extra port, so he always used a cassette adapter when not using CDs. The old cassette adapter was left in the car when I got it and it worked, but the plug didn't seat properly in the jack on my phone, unplugged with very…

Not worth paying extra for a brand I love but buying cheaper brands.

I was told a long time ago that the Monster brand has an owner who is committed to quality. Apparently it got lost. Got the first one, was excited to try it but found the left audio wasn't working. The sound was only on the right side. I saw other reviews had similar issues and ended up sending it back for a replacement. After having to send it back and wait for another one, I'm excited to try it again and the noise just went away. I couldn't pinpoint exactly why or how, ran some audio tests…

Failed after a short time

I currently have an old Monster iCarPlay cartridge adapter that I got from Walmart and it still works but is starting to wear out (the cartridge adapter keeps turning over and cutting out the sound) . This is my second iCarPlay adapter after the first one failed after about a year. The current one is over a year old and cassette adapters typically last 1-2 years. I bought this latest version of Revain. The first actual version I got kept freaking out from the start until my tape recorder spat…

Worth the money, dear

I had an adapter for Dynex cassettes up to the Monster brand. It had amazing sound quality (despite the cheap price and inferior materials), but it clicked and clicked something awful. Then I broke the jack while listening to CCR while on the corner. The equalizer on my iPod was set to Latin (like Latin, not Ricky Martin). I first found the sound quality on the Monster adapter to be pretty terrible. HOWEVER it would get four stars from me in a heartbeat because it looks good, feels like a…

Two different adapters didn't work.

I have an old Volkswagen with a great stereo but no bluetooth or extra inputs. I tried almost ten different adapters, mostly from Bestbuy. All of these BestBuy adapters sounded great, except for poor electrical shielding, which traps static electricity when you're near high-voltage power lines or airports. All of these adapters lasted about a month before turning into complete junk. So I figured that being familiar with the monster mic and guitar cables would be great. This adapter has a…
