This adapter is great, smaller and more compact than my previous adapter. However, there is a problem with this adapter. In Australia, most sockets have a switch just above the socket. This adapter covers the outlet switch making it difficult to operate the switch, but more importantly it doesn't rest against the wall plate so it dangles a bit. Overheated after several uses. The adapter is great - it's thin, light and works well enough, but on my second day of use I noticed my phone wasn't charging. The adapter felt hot and smelled like burnt plastic. I turned it off, waited an hour or so and it worked again with no issues. I bought this for a trip to Peru and it worked well. This is not a power converter, but an adapter that allows devices that are compatible with 220 volt systems, i.e. Apple power supplies for iPhone and iPad, to work. This nice little adapter isn't tiny, but it's smaller than other international adapters and you get a USB connection! It works on both 110V and 220V, even USB. I have verified that the USB port works in US, Brazil 110V, Brazil 220V, UK and France. I really liked the adapter when I first got it. It is unobtrusive, has 2 sockets and a USB port. What's not to like? The two adapter pins for EU and UK are the Achilles heel. It's not entirely Monster's fault, but they should have taken into account that some outlets won't work with this adapter.
