Strong chemical odour. I let it air out on my porch overnight and it still stinks. I can smell it when I walk by. Received our moving alphabet today and am very impressed. I was a bit hesitant to buy based on previous reviews but personally I can say this is a very reliable product! The case is beautiful and durable, no extraneous smells of wood or paint. The letters are dense, well carved and painted. My toddler loves using it for our Montessori activities (I only left a few letters in the box so I don't get overwhelmed now) and I think it will last a very long time! Affordable and Durable Movable Alphabet! 10 vowels (blue letters) and 5 consonants (red letters). The letters are approximately 2.5cm long (photo for reference) except for wider/longer letters like "m" and "y". It is as pictured and comes with a divided box and lid. Note that the dots for the letters "i" and "j" are separate and not joined into one letter, so keep that in mind unless you prefer (in other movable alphabets they are joined ).
