MOOG left me another successful fix.

MOOG has always been my regular supplier of suspension and transmission parts. They come pre-lubricated and pre-lubricated with flush fittings. Make sure you install them properly where you have access to the Zerk grease fitting.

Too tight and poor fit

This is the second time I have experienced a poor fit on a Moog gimbal. I bought them for a 1999 Ford F-150. They installed as usual, but then the locking rings didn't go in easily. They had so little room for the ring grooves that I assumed I had knocked out the needle bearing in the cap. I pushed the connection back and checked but all the bearings were fine. Caps are too tight. Retaining rings on Moog parts are always too tight. If the rings break off after a week, I'll definitely buy a…

Unfortunately they didn't fit my gimbal as they weren't compressed enough to fully lock the retaining clips. Also, the grease is needle type grease and regular grease cannot be substituted after a call to Moog Customer Service. After breaking one of the end caps during compression I finally gave up and had to break and go, but some Chinese Dura-Last U-Joints, easy to…

It fits my 1993 GMC Sierra SLX 3500

After almost 170,000 miles. One of the rear drive universal joints on my 1993 GMC 3500 eventually started to vibrate, so I ordered one of those. I put the U-joint in the freezer overnight to allow the grease in the cups to harden so I had no issues with needle bearings falling out and ending up in hard-to-reach places on my desk. It also made installation easier. It fitted perfectly and eliminated transmission noise. I've driven the truck 1600 miles round trip and it still works as intended…
