Original - camshaft position

Precise fit. Came in a Mopar branded plastic bag. This was very easy to install on a 2002 Liberty. The air box is removed without screws and the CPS sits just below the front valve cover. Remove the old one with the 10mm jack while it's still attached to the wires, then unplug it. Reverse process for installation.

  • Cool product

OEM Exact Replacement - Perfect

I replaced this sensor on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland - not because the factory unit failed - but because I wanted to prevent future failures on this 155,000 mile car. My mechanic installed it but I understand it was an easy job. He did exactly what he intended. I highly recommend this seller.

Cons

Buy a Mopar or regret!

This solved all my problems. Mopar is the only way! Had problems for almost a year with my '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee not wanting to start again after it worked and then stopped for a few minutes (had to sit for 20 minutes, tried a cheap camshaft position sensor but no luck). After installing the cylinder head gaskets and the control system, a cam position error (and limp mode) occurred. I tried replacing car parts with the same code. Once I installed this cam sensor all my problems were gone!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some cons

I can't take any chances. fits spares

This is NOT the same part that came from my Dodge RAM 1500. The portion of the sensor that goes into the engine was about 1 inch longer than the old sensor. It might be a "new" design, but I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet, so I did NOT install it. I went to my local auto parts store and bought a sensor that looks exactly how it came out and works fine. This is either the wrong part for the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.7 liter OR engine - the design has been changed.

  • Nice packaging

Mopar OEM sensors for Jeep 4.7 engines only - I learned the hard way

I learned a hard lesson by not using Mopar OEM sensors for Jeep/Chrysler products have used. Ordered 2 extra sensors (1 crank/1 cam) for my heavy 2007 Jeep Commander. After installation, the dropouts and rough idle continued. After that I did a lot of work (probably more than a dumb high mileage jeep) including all new coils, spark plugs, a new PCM and all the other sensors in the book. When it didn't work my awesome mechanic returned it with an apology that he couldn't fix it and assumed it…

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Available in white only

Genuine OEM from the Mopar Store

This was a genuine Mopar camshaft position sensor to replace on my 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 3.7L V6 4WD. The Mopar Store is a Jeep/Chrysler dealership, so no name fiddling or fictitious names. Sorry, the original part is actually made in China. Anything that qualifies as electronics is almost always made there. This is a coil that I believe is called a reluctance element. The commercially available coated coils, potted and sealed with contact pins in molded plastic, definitely sound like a…
