Mothers 05146 PowerCone Metal Polishing Review

I love this item. My rims were dirty with brake dust. No washing or scrubbing could clean them. I bought it with the Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. 1 note, a little buffing goes a long way and using a thin coat also helps with cleaning. I used the cone with my DeWalt cordless drill. I've found that applying the polish at a low speed and then accelerating to really rub it in works best.

I had a power ball that lasted about 10 years, the only problem was that it eventually rotted from not being used regularly. So it's a little disappointing that this thing falls apart/flies apart right after 4 hoops. I expect some wear but since the wheels I make aren't very difficult to clean I ended up just using polish and a car towel which did a better job of cleaning. I wouldn't buy this again. Fender is amazing and very versatile. The pointed shape helps to polish the wheel arches very well. The Buffer is a great helper and polishes like no other, and fast. I have used it on large 22.5" Alcoa aluminum RV wheels. They are badly oxidized after 24 years of neglect. Now they look like chrome rims! black mud. I use it many times in a dirty state and it still works fine.

I used this product to mix and polish my truck wheels that have a clear coat on them. Lots of corners and tight spots that are too tight for me to do by hand.
