Works great for tool kits

Works great for removing the pin from my DID 520 chain that came with the KLR650. Easy to use with a standard size combination wrench and small enough to fit in your bike tool box. Can't comment on durability as I used it once to remove the original chain for a replacement.

Nice tool just remember to sharpen the chain

This works great but I was shown a trick to avoid damaging it. If you use this on big chains (520 for my bike) it's easy to bend and pin if you're just going to town. Before using this tool, use a hand grinder to sand down the end of the chain pin a little (not the pin on this tool, but the chain pin). This ensures that you don't have to press hard on this tool and it will last longer.

He easily pushed the riveted post through my 530 chain

He easily pushed the riveted post through my 530 chain, riveted strut then re-tightened and finished removing the strut. However, he did not delete the post entirely. I used pliers to take it apart as it's still stuck in the panel. Not so hot what's up. I also didn't grind the rivet before pushing it out. The tool itself worked well.

So far it's working fine!

This is a chain tool for motorcycles. I'm thinking somewhere between 420 and 530 chains (meaning any chain over 420 will do). He doesn't make bike chains, but does make a chain between a 420 and a bike chain (those infamous chains for 25/33cc bike engine kits (aka 49/66/80/100cc kits sold online) ) also worked. This tool can remove chain links by pulling out small rods. You can also use this tool to insert a rod, but that's pretty tricky. With large chains, it is almost impossible to get the…

I wish it worked but it broke in half.

I wish this would work as I was planning on replacing my chain last weekend. I installed it, tightened it and started twisting the pin. I heard some pops which I assumed was the pin moving. I checked to make sure everything was aligned and continued tightening. The first thing that was given away was the body and the whole thing broke in half and the top half and spring unceremoniously fell onto my garage floor. Now the tool is on the chain, so I'm in a worse position than before. I took an old

Works Well Enough: Motorcycle & Powersports

for the price. However, grinding down the chain pin head to be removed is quite necessary as the push pin seems willing to bend and/or break under much greater force. Again, that's to be expected from a tool that costs less than lunch in many places. The reason it only gets 4 stars is that the push rod assembly is too short compared to the C-frame. While it does an excellent job of disassembling the chain itself, the colorful tongue kicks in when you realize that the chain segment you just…
