Cheap but hard plastic.

Good. These things don't match my activation wheels unless I cut them off. They are made of hard plastic and do not bend easily. If they were more flexible I could use them but it doesn't work. It's better to wrap the bus with black tape as I only need to mount four tires. A little disappointed with the product.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Something different

Great Quality: Wheels and Accessories

Luckily I haven't been able to use them yet, but they and 3 tire buckets belong in my "travelling bag" that I take with me on long trips. I want to be able to change a tire even if it gives me hell. TIP: BEFORE WORKING LEAVE THE WHEELS AND TIRES IN THE DIRECT SUN FOR A FEW HOURS! Let them cool for a few minutes before getting to work! THANK ME LATER.

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Quick Instructions

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easier with more than two hands-free

As others have said, two isn't really enough. That or I'm weak and lame. Two people can probably do it, but four people make it much easier. I will buy a few more so as not to jump. I changed two of their tires today. They seem durable. still happy I use 3 levers, a bead partner and lots of soapy water. Will leave an update after a few uses.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Sturdy but needs to be positioned well

I have already used them to replace 2 motorcycle tires. They could withstand abuse from tire changers pressing them against the rim with very little damage. The only problem is that you have to learn how to place them, because once they're on the rim you can't easily move them. Sometimes I had to use irons on a bare rim because I didn't place the rim protectors in the right place.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • unreliable

Pretty Good Stuff: Wheels and Tires

RIM PROTECTOR Did a great job! ADVANTAGES: Cord helps you pull it out or put the splint on and off. Sturdy plastic but I see you need to get new ones after 5-10 uses. Inexpensive but could be cheaper. It's plastic and some rope. CONS: They are a little thick and can be a problem when the tire is mounted last. GENERAL: Great product at a great price. TIP: Use a milk carton or thinner plastic to tighten the last part of the splint and you'll be tight!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Buy them and all your dreams will come true!

Buy! I mounted my own tires for the first time and they ran pretty smoothly. Buy two packs, you will not regret it. I used all four and my tires slid over the rims like clockwork. I have powder coated rims and they left no marks. Strings come in handy when you're on the last beat and realize you need to fish them out in the right place. For reference, my tires are 3.0 and 3.50 x 18, so they're relatively easy to manage.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Write Later

Worked well seems well made

Only used these to change the 120/70 front tires. worked fine, no problems. I also have another competing style (the red ones usually sold in packs of 3 here at Revain) and they're a little more complex compared to them and the slot you attach them to on the edge of the rim is a little more open. But they work equally well. I have seen reviews where such tools look cut and ruined after installation and I suspect this is due to using the wrong bucket tool or not using (or insufficient)…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not bad

Exceeded expectations

I've never changed tires on my bike before but figured I'd just do it myself this time. I've read that many of these snap on rim protectors are single use only, slip around and lots of other horror stories. I bought 2 sets of these and to tell the truth. 2 clamps is not enough and I'm glad I got 4. The clamps looked at my rim with the ultimate SNAP! and they stayed where they were. I bent over all these things. They must be broken. I wouldn't be mad at them if they break because I haven't been…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great tools! best for bikes and weightlifting

I've used them to switch the front and rear of my supermoto and I've loved them and put my full weight on them a few times. DO NOT skimp and buy just one pack, I ended up scratching the $600 rim due to my own ignorance and carelessness! I bought another pack and had my rims lined up in quarters and it was perfect! Sometimes tire pressure can make them difficult to move, but a little soapy water and you'll be rolling in no time. BUY more than one pack. I used a 17" rim so a larger size requires…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
