The description says the tool has a 19mm hex but mine came with a 19mm octagon. Pull out the tool with a wrench (Allen key). To do this, you need a hexagon as indicated in the description. I would recommend looking for another tool.

The tool does exactly what it is designed to do and is accurate enough not to damage the aluminum coating on the fork compression valve. I think it may also depend on how much tightening was used earlier, but no problems so far. Used it on Yamaha yz450f no problem recommending it!
