Poor quality materials. Avoid.

This is the plug I tightened to the manufacturer's instructions and it broke trying to remove it. It proved so difficult to remove that it damaged the threads in the sump, forcing me to replace it.

Perfect replacement for the drain plug

I bought this to replace the stock drain plug on a Porsche Boxster S (2001). I wanted to see if there are metal particles in the oil pan since the engine has been standing for a long time. It was a direct replacement and the next oil change will let me know if there are any potential problems.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • For the old

Works great for Carrera 996 and 997

I install this connector on three of my Carrera, 2000 996, 2002 996 and 2005 997 S. Made in China but don't let that fool you It consists of one Perfectly threaded 6061 aluminum alloy with a pitch of 18mm x 1.5mm. The magnet is strong enough to pick up any ferrous residue from the oil. Not overloaded.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • May damage

Very soft. Will warp and round if you tighten to specs.

This plug appears to be made of a material that is much lighter and softer than the factory drain plug. The first time I installed it and tightened it to the manufacturer's 37FtLbs spec (using the right tools and methods) the inside of the connector began to warp and "round" and my outlet "plugged". " stuck in it. I immediately flipped the ratchet to remove the plug and reinstalled the factory drain plug.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Annoying

The magnet has come loose from the aluminum cork! Wow! Lucky

I bought this in 2019 for my fall 911 oil change. When it was removed this year the soft aluminum plug was stuck on the wrench. He seemed deformed. After removing the magnet, the reed switches off! I'm lucky it didn't come loose in the engine. Contacted the seller, he said he bought it over 2.5 years ago! I bought it last year. It doesn't matter how long, it's an oil plug. I explained that if this magnet came loose and destroyed my motor, it could be a $40,000 problem. They offered. 50%…
