OEM is your way

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus X, purchased in November 2017. The first winter I had problems with defrosting windows. I eventually found out that the outside door activator was to blame. It was actually disabled by the previous owner because it clicked. Replaced it with Autozone which worked for about 5 months before it started clicking start but still worked. Tired of clicking, bought Motorcraft and works great. I bought two because I have another car that is about to be taken as a replacement.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Great inexpensive repair

Worked great in my wife's 2010 Ford Flex SE to fix the broken original engine. I've heard of dealers offering hundreds of dollars to fix this motor. It really couldn't be easier. Lower the glove box door, remove the two screws and wire harness and replace the part. All that is required is a wrench (a flashlight might come in handy). I would recommend changing the cabin air filter while you are there as it is only a few inches from where you work. All in all, the repair cost me the cheap price…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

  • Hard to say

Stuck passenger temp on my 2011 Taurus SHO

Fixed a stuck passenger temp on my 2011 Taurus SHO. The passenger side got stuck randomly and then the heating/air conditioning would not regulate. Used to replace Part No. AA53-19E616-BA. Replacing this part was a nightmare. If your temperature is stuck on the passenger side, you DO NOT need to replace the actuator, which is located almost directly behind the glove box. This is a defroster actuator and can be done in about 3 minutes, no exaggeration. You need to replace the top and left…

Great part for engine cooling and air conditioning

Ford factory part at an affordable price. I installed this to power the passenger door on my wife's 2013 Ford Flex that failed after 6/7 years. The passenger door now works. HOORAY! Installation was painful. The top right screw was almost impossible to reach in this particular spot, but with a titanium 1/4" micro ratchet, a 1/4" to 3/8" adapter and an 8mm Astro NANO socket, I got the job done done without removing anything aside from unplugging the glove box damper and lowering the glove box to

Noisy Air Conditioner Door in 2010 MKT

For about six months, every time I started the Lincoln MKT, I heard this click click click noise coming from the center of the dashboard. After reading the Ford and Lincoln blogs I found that this is a common problem with the recirculation damper. To test, I turned the recirculation switch off and on again and was able to reproduce the annoying click, click, click. I've read the installation guide and it's pretty easy once you know how to change the cabin air filter through the glove box…
