Review on Efficient and Reliable Motorcraft YH-1779 Blend Door Actuator Motor: A Comprehensive Review by Mat Thompson

Fixed a stuck passenger temp on my 2011 Taurus SHO. The passenger side got stuck randomly and then the heating/air conditioning would not regulate. Used to replace Part No. AA53-19E616-BA. Replacing this part was a nightmare. If your temperature is stuck on the passenger side, you DO NOT need to replace the actuator, which is located almost directly behind the glove box. This is a defroster actuator and can be done in about 3 minutes, no exaggeration. You need to replace the top and left actuator hidden behind the wiring harness. It's only held on by 2 screws but I plan on replacing it in a few hours. I hope I never have to replace that screw again. Note. I believe this part is used elsewhere in Taurus.
