Don't buy Autolite junk! This is the only way!

If you have an IDI, NEVER buy Autolite spark plugs. Removing the cheap head caps nearly cost me an arm and a leg. They start faster and make your truck 100 times more reliable. Worth every penny! Motorboat for life!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Can't remember

OEM is the way to go.

Excellent glow plugs. I ordered 16 pieces here (two sets). The first sentence fell out almost exactly a year later. The second set fell out after a week. That's the brand you need in your IDI, but I must have gotten a bad set. They are built with consistency and precision. All within a few ohms when I tested them.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Excellent product suitable for ignition parts

Don't waste your money on OTHER cheap brands that swell and break in your head as they burn out like two CAR***** unfortunately at 136,000km tested, which was enough for 3 cold starts and 14 miles. Literally! Thanks to them, my 7.3 runs like new, no more white smoke, easy starting, same as the ones with 136,000 miles, bad motorcraft are easily removed, others are still in good condition!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • So far so good

Top brand according to connoisseurs

This is actually a picture of a ZD1 from an earlier model year. maybe Beru if you can find it. Autolite has lasted me less than 6,000 miles, even in the warm season. I've heard the champion is worse and I've had 7 of the 8 newer Bosch's completely burned out whilst a much older glow plug (couldn't see the brand but probably Motorcraft as it's an OEM) held up perfectly in actual testing.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Everything is fine

MUCH better than the Autolite

I know the internet is full of Autolite glow plug horror stories but here's another one: I bought 8 Autolites and 3 of them burned out the same day I bought them installed; The start standby light blinked once and then I heard the horrible click of the relay. I bought these Motorcrafts and the car (a 1990 Econoline 350 with 7.3 IDI) started right away. The standby indicator lights up for about 10 seconds, as it should. I agree with the other reviewer: the photo shows the old "shovel" style glow

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Contact the seller
