Good for crafting, maybe not measuring.

This is a beautiful metal square ruler. I use it to make metal parts. I like the black color as a contrast to the aluminum and steel (easy to find on a crowded desktop). I have used pencils, sharps and pens with good success. The only problem is an error in the screen printing or embossing on the scale. I don't use it to measure, so it doesn't really matter.

Pros
  • High quality L-shaped ruler, high carbon steel material - durable and rust resistant
Cons
  • There are problems

Available in metric and imperial units

Why is this a problem? Because if you want to measure from the edge of the board and it's the left side of the board it will be in inches (imperial) but if you measure the right side of course you flip the square and it's now metric. I like both metric and imperial systems, but I NEVER use both systems in the same project. You should check every few minutes. Insane. Make them either metric or imperial, but not both at the same time!

Pros
  • Ideal for framing, roofing, stair work, models and templates carpentry work. Can also be used as a flatness ruler
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Digits are erased, inches/cm are on opposite sides, thick and solid

The ruler is thick and solid and true 90 degree angle as far as I can tell. Inches/centimeters on opposite sides (left/right), so if you want to measure 10cm to the left and then 10cm to the right, you _can't_. b/c says "3.9" on one side instead. Also, I had significant wear on the numerals/measurement marks which I have little use for at home for crafting/sewing. I don't have any major suggestions for fixing the right-left problem, but it would be much better if the numbers were engraved…

Pros
  • Easy to read markings with a bright white pattern on black
Cons
  • Expensive

BEST COMPANY EVER Best measuring and marking tools

Okay so I never write reviews but for Mr Pen I will. First, it's super cheap and super high quality. i love what i have But he also came up with a MUSTAKE TATTOO! What other company does this? They have a product QR code that you can scan that will lead you to an unexpected free gift! It's fun and I really can't tell you how much I enjoy buying woodworking tools. Literally if you need it for something or even if you don't buy it now. Thank you Mr Pen!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

This square is suitable for carpentry squares

Very strong quality square. Both see and enter. is displayed. My husband always brought me his oversized t-shirt when I needed it. Now I have my own easy to use square. I can't believe I waited this long to buy myself. I really only bought it because it's metal. When making and manually cutting straight lines, I used my (wooden) rulers to cut lengthwise. I would hollow out my rulers every time. And not a straight line! So I solved two problems with a ruler/square. Love it! I would say I would…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Numbers are erased, inches/cm on opposite sides, thick and strong

Ruler is thick and strong as far as I can tell, but 90 degrees. inches/centimeters on the opposite (left)/rectangular side), so if you want to measure 10cm to the left and then 10cm to the right, you _cannot_ . b/c says "3.9" on one side instead. Also, I had significant wear on the numerals/measurement marks which I have little use for at home for crafting/sewing. I don't have any major suggestions for fixing the right-left problem, but it would be much better if the numbers were engraved…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
