This is a truly amazing kettle. However, when I opened the packaging, a strange odor came from the kettle, which had dissipated somewhat but still retained faint traces of the smell. I hope that with time it will completely disappear. Luckily, the smell comes from the pen itself, not the inside, so the water doesn't spoil. It would be nice if the designers worked on a better pen that didn't stink! If so then I'd love to order one of these if it happens because it's really nice.
