Rugged Construction: Welds and Solders

This is a gift for my friend, I called him when I saw the message had been delivered. And he loves it. He snapped some photos for me and said it was better than some of the other products he tried. solid, self-ignition. I gave him another type and I will ask him if he is good.

Pros
  • Suitable for soldering copper tubing up to 3/4β€³ diameter, soldering electronic circuits, thawing frozen tubing and locks, loosening rusted nuts and bolts.
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

NOT as advertised, will not work with Mapp gas

Product advertised for use with Mapp gas. Works with propane but will not ignite or ignite when manually ignited with mapp gas. Of course the return window is closed - someday it will be a day or two (smile). For me, products that don't live up to their ads automatically get a star, no matter how good they are or not. perform differently.

Pros
  • Trigger Ignition for instant flame ignition with one push, upgraded igniter for improved ignition rate, perfect propane operation, MAPP, MAP-PRO, threads to fit US CGA600 fuel gas cylinder. ;
Cons
  • Available in white only

Advertised as a soldering option but the flame is wide and not clear. It can solder two sheets of metal together, but lacks the focus to heat anything thicker than a few millimeters. It's cheap for a self-igniting burner. The flame is not adjustable and I have no idea what they mean when they say "expand 1.5". The head does not expand. It's fixed.

Pros
  • Caution: Tilting the gas cylinder more than 60 degrees from its vertical position can cause the burner to catch fire. It is recommended to start work at room temperature with a disposable hand bottle and keep the torch as vertical as possible.
Cons
  • So far so good
