Description of Mrs Andersons Baking 45872 7 25 Inches

Mrs. Anderson’s Cherry Pitter easily removes pits from cherries and olives in seconds without bruising or crushing the fruit for less waste and mess. Made from zinc alloy with chrome plating; sturdy and durable. Place cherry on the holder, squeeze handle together to extract pit while fruit remains intact; chilled fruit works best; great for pitting olives, too. Easily make healthy snacks and cherry recipes easily, like cherry pie, cherry tarts, cherry smoothies, muddled drinks, craft cocktails, and more. Dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Brilliant! Stall: Corer and Corer

Great! Strong, durable cast iron with suction cups that really hold. It took two apples to set up the peeler properly, but now that it's set up it's really fun to use. Job takes less than 5 seconds, peels, cuts and cores into a chicken bowl. I just rinse the whole block under hot water and lay it on a towel to dry. Great product and highly recommended.

Cons
  • Worry Me

This is NOT stainless steel.

While it's nice and shiny, it's not the stainless steel it was made for. There is no indication on the packaging that it is stainless steel and the packaging indicates that it must be hand washed. It looks like your regular old die cast metal case with a nice finish. Two stars (instead of one) for the fact that the picture quality is slightly higher than the competition. I really don't like fake advertisers.

Pros
  • Corers & Pitters
Cons
  • Almost OK

Only works about half the time, best on small cherries, not large ones.

Works about half the time. I've used it to remove about a hundred pounds of cherries. Luckily I didn't need all of the seeds for the mead ferment I make, but it would still be a good idea to remove them. This works better with smaller cherries than with larger cherries. Every time I got stuck I knew it didn't hit the seed and I had to put it back in or rip the seed out by hand.

Pros
  • Pitters
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Better than expected

It's been 40 years since I've used a similar (and almost identical) product. For several reasons we have decided to go back to canning and cooking a lot more with fresh ingredients. Now that we live in Australia we found a really nice apple orchard near us and bought a box of apples for a very good price. It took me less than an hour to peel, core and slice the entire box and by the end of the day we had the box in 9 pints of applesauce (so good we make lots more) and 7 liters. Apple compote. I
