Inexpensive Monoblock

Not as heavy as I expected which is great as I don't have to add another heavy duty stand right away. Now I can use a medium-duty stand indoors. I mainly use it as a secondary light for my XPlor 600 (AD600), Rim or Fill. Plan to try it as a base for small desktop things. Can't match the performance and value for money!

Will get more

I bought this device as an entry point into the Godox ecosystem. I didn't need a lot of power and wanted something small, but it had to work with the Godox smart remotes. After using this little beauty at work along with my existing flashlights, I don't like my old flashlights anymore. Godox makes them more attractive and powerful devices, but they all work together and are a great way to get started.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Sad gear

Great product for the price.

This is an entry-level strobe. If you're looking for nice shots and cooldown isn't an issue for you, this is your lamp. It's 300W but enough power and also has a very good mode indicator. The reload time is about 1 second. I bought it out of necessity for affordable light and I really fell in love with it. My only issue with this is that it shoots a little colder than advertised.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • A few little things

High-quality light: Lighting

High-quality lamp in student design. But it is cheap and easy to integrate into the Godox radio trigger system. On the scammers side. it doesn't come with a base reflector (an optional $12 purchase) and the umbrella holder doesn't have a locking button. In my opinion, if you ever get the idea, go for a large softbox with three or four flashes. Then you're probably better off with that kind of light. I use mine with buff vagabond mini.

  • Very good price-performance ratio

My second order of these

Now I have 4 of these in my studio. I've found that I usually run them at 1/8-1/4 power, which is more than enough for my small studio. The colored boots fit the 7-inch soup bowl reflectors pretty snugly and slip on like a wrestling match, but work well if you just want one of the primary colors or a white diffuser. I often use 1 or 2 of these. MS300 for backlight and colored boots work well for this. I use a Godox X2T transmitter to run them and none of them have misfired so far. I bought the…

Amazing BANG for the Buck is the best flash for $110

The MS300 is a great studio flash for portrait, fashion and food photography on a budget. You can't buy the best light for $110. And here's why: - Excellent wireless control capabilities - Constant signal output - Bowens mount offers compatibility with many modifiers - Compact size and light weight - PRICE Now the MS300 is not an ideal product. And it would be nice to have an LED modeling light. Also this flashlight costs $110 and you can't expect everything. The build quality of the monoblock…

Much more convenient than the SK line

I bought one of these and before that Godox SK300II. I wish I had 2 of these instead. While the SK model has more weight and arguably better durability, it's not as useful as the MS model's smaller size/weight and extra light reduction stage. If you buy one of these it is also because you are on a budget and the lighter weight of this model means you can get by with cheaper lighting stands. Putting the SK on a cheap stand made me constantly worry about tips, not like this one. And as a bonus…

Some high speed sync!

While this is an entry-level flash, it's definitely worth the extra $35 (or less) over a flash. I have two Godox flashes and an X2t trigger and this flash is perfect for that combination. Without opening the manual, it was easy to set the group and channel for wireless triggering, and immediately, without further pairing or effort, I was able to control the output from my trigger on my camera. So the usability is good! Not only is the output higher than a flash, it really feels like a nice…
