Hp wants to be special and use proprietary parts. This adapter gave me back nvme instead of a slow mechanical drive in a hybrid laptop.

My HP Pavilion Split X2 (13-r010dx) performance has slowed down due to a stock WD5000M21K hard drive. SFF-8784 SSDs are rare and expensive, but this M.2 to SFF-8784 adapter allowed me to use an inexpensive M.2 SATA SSD. (In my case WDS500G2B0B) Now this old HP works quite well, especially considering its age. My computer was able to see the hard drive, but it was too damaged to hold the files. They all settled on RAW files, but at least I have an adapter to try and send them in for recovery. Thank you!

Thank god the ultra-thin SATA connections didn't last long because it's a pain in the ass. Although this thing worked great!

Needed to replace a failed hybrid drive in an HP Split X2 Notebook with SFF-8784 connector. I've used this with an SSD to reinstall the OS and the laptop works fine.

Did exactly what it needed, customer had a stupid Lenovo (why?) and their horrible hybrid SSDs. Of course Lenovo crashed and burned, but it allowed me to extract the data
