Price. Oh. but I absolutely had to have them for my freshly renovated country house kitchen. So I paid $$ for them. So far they're holding up great but I'm brittle with them to make sure they don't break. I've noticed that it makes sense to soak ceramics and glass in water to give them strength. I don't know where I heard this from, but I used to have glass that became brittle from not being used, so I soak it from time to time now. What I liked best was that it was unusual, with "old" glass handles on top. Each one in appearance. The downside is that it seems very fragile. While cleaning the top of the smallest canister, I noticed a crack on both sides, running from the handle to the bottom of the top cap. I turned the lid over and found that the jar had no protection due to a hole drilled in the jar to accommodate the handle. I don't usually browse, but there's a problem buyers should be aware of. I received them and washed them before using them as usual. Firstly they are amazing and I love that each handle has a different design. My complaint is that it arrived with a crack in the top lid of the smallest canister, starting at the handle and going to the rim, and chips along the bottom edge of the lid.
