Do yourself a favor and buy a 23mm head

Being new to life on wheels I quickly found out why they are sold in packs of 10. it is rounded like the one i replaced. Do yourself a favor and buy the 23mm for a snug fit that will last longer. I'm not sure if this is a simple design flaw or a planned obsolescence.

  • One year trial

Shorter than Atwood plug

I decided to replace the water heater plug as the head was chewed all over (due to using pliers instead of a proper wrench). These replacements are about 1/8 inch shorter than the original Atwood plugs and the one I put in leaked. With enough force and teflon tape I could probably stop the leak, but it was easier to install the old plug instead.tl;dr - saves money, wastes time

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Empty

Not 7/8 or 15/16 to install

Every plug I've bought before came with a 7/8 or 15/16" socket installed. . 15/ 16 for the big ones to these. 22mm for the small and 24mm for the large. I don't have a 23mm but I'll try to find one. If that doesn't work I'll use the oversized 15/16 "" ...if they start to peel off I use them once and throw them away.Terrible chinese junk don't buy them. And yes I know I can get them back.More trouble than it's worth at $6.

Pros
  • Shipping was very fast
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

You can't use a 7/8 wrench to tighten a nut that's too big

Today I received a package of plugs and ran into a huge problem - while the threads fit the water heater hole, the plug head wasn't 7/8. that's the way it should be (product description). Clearly a quality control issue. This is a real problem because the 7/8 wrench was too small and the 1 inch wrench was too big? How should I tighten the connector? When I use tongs, they chew on the head. Sending it back, hope they fix the problem.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent replacement plug for hot water tank

Plugs are well made, pipe threads are easy to tighten. It is always recommended to use several wraps of teflon tape on the threads to ensure a good watertight seal and easy installation and removal. They can be reused multiple times as long as the head or threads are not damaged. SAFETY. Hot water can burn you! Be sure to let the water in the tank cool BEFORE you drain it! To speed up the process, you can turn off the heat and turn on the hot water faucet in the sink/shower to "flush" the…

Works well for plumbers

Bought because the other connector was completely chewed and cross-threaded. They fit nicely on an Atwood water heater, I applied tape and hand tightened then used a set of duct fasteners to tighten them, filled the water heater and no leaks so I think it works great. to get a key that you can buy separately but it had a lot of mixed reviews so I chose not to buy it. bought a tool to help with this. The only reason I should get a tool is to avoid chewing on the top of the fork. Channel locks…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Some bugs

Well made but here's why you might not like them as RV water heater plugs

First off these plugs appear solid, well made, with good clean threads and for some purposes they will probably great thing is that a lot of plumbing fittings (as well as gas fittings) use TAPERED NPT threads (the same was my original one), but these plugs aren't tapered - they're straight threads. Side by side photo of my original fork. It looks like the original owner of this RV pulled the plug a couple of times with pliers and broke the head (the hexagonal part where they were supposed to…

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Not bad
