🔩 Mueller Industries 1.5 inch PVC Union, 1.5-Inch SXS Review

I used them in an RV with a drain line that bends when you move the kitchen rail. The original couplers were so light that the nut easily came loose from the lip that was supposed to hold it. They're not cheap, but they're heavy. They can be glued to flexible PVC tubing using a standard PVC primer and cement. You solved a difficult problem for me.

I bought 2 to use with my water irrigation pump and chose the 80 schedule because they are outdoors in the high desert sun. I couldn't find a better price around $7 until today when I see the price drop. I installed 2 fittings because I need to separate the pipe that goes into the sewer and the pipe that goes to my manifold so I can easily move the pump to the winter room. I wanted to use half of this fitting so I didn't have to cut the existing fitting and splice a few couplers. This connection did not match my old one. The 1-1/2 was correct, but the threaded ring was too big and the threads were different. I don't think it's actually a B&K/Mueller 164-637-HC, or at least I didn't get that part number. Maybe a part has changed over the years. All I know is that this joint is Chinese stamped and it's the same one you can buy at Lowes, Home Depot, True Value etc…

Neat PVC fit. All plastic parts are correctly formed and fit together well. Even the O-ring is properly seated in its groove. However, there were several notches on the sealing surface where the O-ring runs. I decided to turn this surface on a lathe to ensure a tight seal, but not everyone can do this. The worst thing about this mix is that it differs from the Revain image. The label says it was made in China by BK Products, which also doesn't match Revain's listing. This is the reason why this
