Superbly sharp for most sewing jobs. Cut the thinnest thread into several strands. Very, very sharp, use with caution!

These are good for trimming thread, but I still have to use my big sewing scissors to get a nice clean cut when it comes time to thread the needle.

I use them for thread cutting and sewing. They are tall with soft handles. They are sharp and stay that way. (I'm picky because I have RA.) I like them so much I bought extra ones to put on each workstation.

Mundial make amazing scissors, sharpest blades with a well finished action, much better than what you can find in big boxes or hardware stores which is just about adequate. I have an 8.5 inch pair, the best in our house (six others), but I needed the smaller one to trim personal health items accurately. The 4.25" is perfect for this job.

I bought these because I make masks and need to cut a lot of thread and detach the felt pads for the nose area. My Mundial shears have been my favorite for decades. They don't have sharp ends, so I have to open the scissors wide enough to cut the thread from the tip. They work better with felt, but I also have to start the cut at the base of the scissors. I put them aside for later and went back to my old scissors which are not as easy to use but work faster.
