I should have read the reviews before buying. Although warm to the touch, it doesn't generate enough heat to heat up the mug and keep it warm. I even tried using a flat bottomed water glass and it barely kept the temperature above room temperature even when there was almost no liquid in the cup. You can't deny that this is the coolest mug warmer out there. I have a very large mug at work and the platen area of this warmer was more than enough for the bottom of my mug. After I had drunk half of the coffee, I put it on the heating pad for an hour; without temperature change. I drank some more and put 1/4 of the coffee on the heating pad but it still didn't heat the coffee. I noticed that my mug has a slightly concave bottom like all the other mugs in the office. Should have read the reviews before buying. I've tried several coffee mugs/cups, some have a flat bottom but most have a concave bottom. NONE of the coffees were warm enough to drink after being set on the USB cookie warmer for about 30 minutes. Now I'm hesitating between sending it back and saving. The only thing I would leave is that this is a very nice coffee warmer.

It might look cute, but if you're buying it because you need a "hot stove" to keep your coffee warm, look look elsewhere. This product feels cheap and. The heating element only acts on the center of the entire surface (not sure if you examined the bottom of the mug, but it's concave meaning the heat doesn't even touch the mug). Bottom line, it's not worth the money.
