don't buy them, they turn my water green. I just changed the water two days ago. For this reason I had to remove the plants.

The only thing I don't like is their bright green colour. It is also very important to get as many tall plants as possible at a good price. Once algae grows on them, they look less bright and fake. I like the base too. I could have just thrown them out instead of reaching into the tank to scatter the plastic. They have stone pedestals heavy enough to fall where I put them and stay there.

I bought these for my Betta aquarium but they are hard plastic and very large. I immediately marked the return. Hard plastic is not safe for fish fins, especially delicate fish like bettas. Even if you plan on trimming them, you will never get a smooth finish that won't pose a threat to your fins. Don't buy them as your fish might get hurt while swimming. The fish will of course try to hide and swim through them like real plants. Not a sure item.

I have placed several of these faux plants in my 29 gallon tank for my two newts. Newts like to climb plants, hide among them, and cling to them. The plants don't accumulate, so I didn't have to clean them other than regularly changing the water in the aquarium, regardless of the plants. Plants usually stay upright as long as their base is on the surface of the aquarium. When the water in the aquarium moves (thanks to the filter), the plants move gently, giving them a less artificial look.

I wanted to decorate my 20 gallon freshwater tank so the fish have more hiding spots and play areas without spending a lot of money. This item is excellent for the price but there are a few things to watch out for so you know what to expect. The design is standard plastic aquarium decor - maybe a little thinner which is nice.
