Filters well but others have reported leaks where the handle connects to the container. As a result I keep less than the advertised quantity hence only 3 stars.

Sieve rusted on edges when first washed before use! I emailed the company with photos of the rusty part attached. Part requested, received today.

I had one that I got in Japan years ago and since we moved I decided to buy a new one. Upon receipt, I have some expectations based on the review and the price ... unfortunately, after the first wash, rust was visible on the edge of the net. I am very disappointed in its quality.

They're well built, although slightly larger than expected and a lot more than needed to occasionally filter out some bacon grease, although they do the job well. We keep it in the base cabinet so it doesn't take up counter space. It's probably designed to filter out large amounts of vegetable oil, such as when cooking tempura or other fried foods regularly.

My husband loves to save fat from the bacon to use when we vacuum pack meat. From time to time I use fat to sauté vegetables. My only criticism is that this thing is just plain ugly. I keep it in my desk drawer so I don't have to look at it. Otherwise it does what it is supposed to do and filters out fat very well. The filters are very easy to keep clean by running them under hot water. I also like the little metal saucer that comes with it to protect the bottom of my drawer.

I checked the question section and some say it is made in Japan. This item was a bit more expensive than the sets at Revain so I figured it was worth it.
