I really like this cartridge

I really like this cartridge. A lot of details and a blur in the picture. I love that it came pre-mounted on the headshell which made it easy for me to compare it to the Ortofon Bronze. The Ortofon Bronze is still a great pickup, but with the double Nagaoko price point, that's no problem.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • It has almost everything

What a great car, made even better for the price!

I've heard about an upgrade to my MP-110, although the MP-150 is brand new and not broken in yet. It's a little light, but it should loosen up a bit after 30-50 hours. The bass is accurate and detailed, and the stereo separation is incredible. Fantastic $215 deal with Shell.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Factor Set

Toe tapping for accessories

Great sounding cartridge for $$. Great energy PRAT. The cymbals are not at the level of the bell like the bells. I had an issue with the shell as the lifter didn't match the photos, hit the dust cover of my turntable and scratched it. The new lift on the body shell is round to the front. I hope the photos will be updated to let people know.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

I Love It!: Accessories

Excellent cartridge! New update: After importing, the sound is great! Please buy this trolley, you will not be disappointed, you will be amazed! Forget the orthophone, this car will do it for me. I have both bronze and black Ortofon M2 and I can say yes. With this car it's WOW! This will blow Ortofon mm wagons out of the water any day of the week! My brain exploded.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Cool cartridge! in Turntable Cartridges

Please note that the instructions for the Nagaoka MP-150 are in Japanese, but the specifications are still understandable. So there is no problem in adjusting the turntable's counterbalance to Nagaoka's specifications. The Nagaoka MP-150 has breathed new life into my vinyl collection, with this cartridge you hear new details, especially the mids and highs. Details are so clear across the musical spectrum that it feels like hearing every album for the first time. Nagaoka offers a 30-hour…

Pros
  • New to my Collection
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Nagaoka's best point

From a diminishing return perspective, the MP-150 seems to me to be the best point in the Nagaoka series. It has a nice balanced sound (warmer than many AT carts but very detailed), great looks and wonderful tracks. With this cartridge, the IGD doesn't work at all for me (the MP-110 has bits in parts). The stylus isn't quite as exotic: an uncoated 0.4 x 0.7 elliptical diamond on a tapered aluminum cantilever, but there's improved tracking over the MP-110. The Lego block shape makes this…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

This cartridge pierces much more than its weight class.

This is the best cartridge I have ever owned and I have been an audiophile for over forty years. Sure, it's not the best cartridge I've ever had, but dollar for dollar it's the best deal. I installed it on my Rega RP3 on my secondary system and it's a complete copy of the Elys that came with the turntable. Details and dynamics are outstanding. It definitely outperforms anything close to its price range. Delivery was quick and the price was more than fair.

Pros
  • Model: MP-150H
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Nagaoka's Sweet Spot

In terms of diminishing returns, the MP-150 strikes me as the best spot in the Nagaoka line. It has a nice balanced sound (warmer than many AT carts but very detailed), great looks and wonderful tracks. With this cartridge, the IGD doesn't work at all for me (the MP-110 has bits in parts). The stylus isn't all that exotic: a 0.4 x 0.7 elliptical diamond on a tapered aluminum cantilever, but tracking is improved over the MP-110. With. On some turntables (Technics in particular) the cartridge…
