Description of Narrow Exhaust Muffler Stainless Connection

The band clamp is a wide band of metal, usually stainless steel, wrapped around the exhaust pipe joint. Our products are preformed rings and are now more commonly used in high-end aftermarket car systems that use slip fit because they are relatively inexpensive and can be reused without damaging the pipe. The butt strap clamp is a simple and effective way to connect car system components such as pipes, mufflers and catalytic converters. Offering unique sealing and high clamping loads, it does not distort your exhaust components and provides flexible removal and repair. Distribute the clamping force evenly over the entire 360° range to prevent leakage and control material deformation. It is easy to install or disassemble with one bolt, saving time and effort. T-304 strip stainless steel and carbon steel galvanized hardware. Available in a wide range of styles and sizes. You would better measure before pruchase. These clamps feature unitized construction which minimized part number complexity and maximizes material efficiency for reduced weight. Size: Minimum Diameter: 1 3/4" (1.75"); Maximum Diameter: 2", Band Width: 1 1/4" (1.25"); Band Thickness: 1/16" (.0625"); Height: 3"; Hex Nut: 15mm Metric.

Had to return Exhaust and Emissions

Had to return because I needed a strap to get it OVER the end of the muffler that goes into the 3" outer pipe. NOBODY seems to make a band clamp for this application so I ended up buying old style C clamps which don't distribute clamping force as evenly and look ugly.
