Used on deck to install cable railings

We built three decks with steel cables instead of balustrades using these turnbuckles. They work as expected and don't feel cheap or break easily.

Not every stainless steel is best. Hook

I missed the details of the description that the body of the lanyard is aluminum. Thought it was all stainless steel based on the "Stainless Steel Hook / Lug Tarcop" name. I'm going to try it on my snow thrower chains as the old link buckles got frostbite due to the male thread part being plain steel.

Seems ok and they worked fine for that, what i needed which was a light weight application where i don't really need the 3/16 inch cable i used. But they are much smaller than they should be. I'm very used to working with 3/16" devices and while it's possible they can meet some strength requirements for 3/16" they aren't the diameter they should be. They look downright pathetic after I've used them to pull a real 3/16 inch cable. I used an uncalibrated vernier caliper and measured the…
