🌳 Bundle of 6 Natural Birch Bark Squares (12'' Square) Review

Excellent product. Measurements were accurate but only 5 out of 6 pieces. In the middle of the stack was a dud. However, they will work fine after I've steamed and flattened them. They are thin enough to be steamed and flattened, see photo. To update. I was able to complete my project, but out of 6 parts only 2 were usable. So, $30 for 2 squares. I would not buy this product again.

I was looking for flat birch bark to attach to some wooden crates my husband had made for some plastic pot inserts I bought from Revain for fresh flowers. The bark is not flexible at all. We even tried soaking it in water and it made no difference. He finally cut them out with his saw, glued them on with gorilla glue, clamped them and nailed them for gluing. I finished the job but it was a bigger project than I expected.

Worked but lots of waste (and fine dust particles) due to the way I used it. I did not soak, I did not consider it necessary to make this tree, but I was afraid that if you are not careful with it, the top layer would peel off as it already was. Some of the edges were folded over and two of the pieces were much thicker than the others making them unsuitable for this project (probably the nature of the product).

One of the pieces had two large cracks that made it unusable. I tried but it broke in the end. I might use it on another project, but that meant I was only able to finish ten of my twelve presents. Two of the six pieces had the wood grain up and down instead of across which also made it much more difficult to use. I think this information should be included in the description as the picture shows cross grain and I expected them all to be like that!

Birch bark does not bend very much. It's not good for school projects or anything other than lying around. Maybe a good carpenter can do something with it. I tried soaking the pieces of wood in water to bend them but that didn't work. Some reviews have said wood can be bent, but that's definitely not the case. When it came to buying birch bark, I thought the bark was thin and easy to peel off. This product wasn't right. Wouldn't buy again.

I wanted to use these beautiful natural details to build a roof for a craft. I soaked them in hot water and when the water cooled down I let them soak for another 2 hours. I then placed them between wax paper and placed a very heavy object on a flat tiled floor overnight. I did this to remove any curvature. It didn't work at all. They still buckled. You were too fat to work. It seems that the curve in them goes in the opposite direction from the tree. They are useless to me in the form they are

This is a big disappointment. I just received them and sent them back because the ends are all bent and twisted and twisted in opposite directions. The white rind appears to be filled with a chalky substance that lingers on fingers when touched and is difficult to wash off. The white part of the birch also flakes and peels off. They also look like some kind of black mold. All of that dried up, cracked and became unusable. I bought them from this company and they are the most expensive in this…
