My father is a locksmith and an avid lover of lava soap but they stopped making them. I first bought a large container with a pump and it was comparable to lava. It works well and is easy to clean. I just bought this smaller one so I can put it on my kitchen sink without being bulky and easy to reach when needed. No problem.

This thing doesn't seem to work as well as the Gojo I had years ago. I'm not sure if the formula has changed but I swear it takes more to clean my hands than the gojo I've used in years past. Yes, there is still something like pumice in it, but that's all I can say about it. I ended up getting about 85% of the dirt/debris off my hands from the messy car repair, but that's about it. I remember many years ago there were traces of stains around my nails and in the crevices between my fingers.

Gojo is a great hand wash. I've been using it for 20 years. When I read other reviews about the new bottles not having a brush I was disappointed. The brush is useful for cleaning nails and other stubborn grease/dirt. Luckily I kept my old bottle. I washed it several times until it was clean and let it air out for a couple of days. I like this product because it removed the tape from the wood surface of my closet. But I had to use multiple apps to make it work. As I saw in the YouTube video, I rubbed the product into my gum. I've tried wiping the residue off with a rag but to no avail. Eventually I settled on a green cleaning sponge and the residue started to disappear. My hands can get very dirty when I work. In my case it's mostly ink/paint. This product works very well in my situation. I don't get a lot of lube or anything so I can't judge for those scenarios. I work with industrial grade "pumice" hand cleansers, and while this product feels different (much finer grit and less soapy feel); he does it just as well.
