Not Worth the Price

The substrate did not meet my expectations at all.Based on my observations it did not improve the health or growth of my aquatic plants. the color also faded quickly and made the tank look dull. The ONLY positive thing is that it was easy to set up. However, for the price, I expected more from this product. I would not recommend it, and there are much better options available in the pet supplies market..

The perfect substrate! in Aquarium Substrate

I took a chance ordering 5 packs for my 75 gallon aquarium although a few years ago I couldn't find any reviews other than a few on other sites. I love it; it's the perfect consistency for planting, it doesn't cloud up at all after adding water (I did NOT rinse it before) and I like the jet black color. My plants are doing well and the fish seem to like it too. However, I have to note that this is an inert substrate, so I also use root tablets and dose EI dry fertilizer into the water column. I
