If your m42 lens has an auto iris then this adapter is not for you. There is a protrusion on the inside that touches the height of the bezel, preventing you from adjusting the bezel while screwing it in. You literally have to unscrew the lens to readjust the screw. I have 4 of these and only use them on my manual lenses, but for the few that have automatics I've found an all metal lens (oh yes they are plastic) that has no burr and works smoothly with automatic lenses. There was a tiny screw on the side that attaches to the camera body - it was sticking out so far I was concerned the adapter would snag on the camera. I removed the screw, the adapter fits - basically everything is fine. There is a small setback. It also doesn't obscure the protrusion (which depresses the m42's mounting pin and allows for manual aperture control) - a potential problem with internal reflections. Wanted to mount a nice Fujicon f1.4 50mm lens from a Mamiya Sekor SLR to a Sony a6000. The following issues have been encountered in order of severity. 1. The adapter moves the lens far enough away from the sensor that 10 feet (3m) is the maximum distance the lens can focus.
