Neewer Lighting 3200K 5600K Camcorder Compatible Review

The light began to flicker. The PSU smelled FUL and was leaking oil. This thing is a serious fire hazard and I would avoid it at all costs.

Gets pretty damn bright. I'd like a slightly wider color temperature range. If it were a little thinner and had a wider color temperature range that would be great for the money.

My office has a lot of backlighting so I needed better front lighting for scale meetings. I like the color temperature and brightness settings. I installed it on my desk and connected an inexpensive smart plug to a power source so I could ask Alexa to turn the lights on and off without having to reach for the rear power button.

The Neewer Ultra-Slim LED Video Light has adjustable brightness and color controls that let you choose how you want your light to look. I just keep it at 100% and 6500. I keep them connected so I can't comment on the battery life. They are easy to move because they are very light. The only problem is that their cables are too short so I gave them 4 stars for versatility. They are far nicer in every way than my softboxes which I put into storage after receiving these pears.

Build quality is normal. The brightness of the panel is decent, the illumination is remarkably even. One complaint is that the specs say it goes from 0 to 100%. It's not even close. Measured brightness with a light meter and 1% was actually about 15% of maximum. This is a problem for my application. We need to reduce the brightness with white paper. As advertised, the unit is light, thin, bright and has an evenly soft light. However, once you increase the brightness from OFF to the lowest setting, the brightness jumps from ZERO to about 50%, which is *bright*. Can't use it for softer light. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this light. I was surprised how thin it is and yet very durable. The screw on the stand adapter was excellent - easy to remove for storage/travel. I carry a camera/video bag and have a long bag and this light fits in well and still allows me to close the bag. The power/information LED screen on the back has proven to be very useful.
