It's actually not that difficult to assemble.

There are many reports that this item cannot be returned in the round bag. This requires some strength, but is doable. Once you've folded the softbox into a triangular shape, grab the corner above the word "Beginner" and the middle of the long side opposite where you grabbed the corner. Then rotate in opposite directions. That's all. No magic tricks. I just got mine in the mail today. So if it wears out over time or I have other issues I'll update this review. Right now this is exactly what I…

Could have been 5 stars. Two cons

I use this product for outdoor photography. The quality of the product is excellent. Definitely worth the money. However, there are two things I didn't like. Otherwise it could have been 5 stars.1. The tilt lever on the horseshoe mount prevents the softbox from shifting when mounted. If you like to angle the softbox up and down while recording, it can be annoying. I wonder how their QA can overlook this simple thing. [As a workaround, I reduced the tilt arm by 1 inch to make it easy to adjust…

Sturdy, well-made product!

I had concerns about ordering because someone left a review saying the product was cheaply made. but there were so many other 5 star reviews. This item is very durable and well made. I chose this version over the Godox version because of the price and all the extra features that came with it. I was prepared that the quality is not as good as the Godox brand, but in my opinion Godox lives up to their level! The only problem (which isn't really a problem) is that it's very hard to get it round…

Pretty good, but the grid is useless.

Ideal for on the go. The bracket that comes with it is for Bowens plates etc. The bracket holds my SB-900 flash well without putting any strain on the flash controller area. With Nikon flashes, you need to push the flash head in as far as possible due to the sensors on the underside of the flash head. The SB-900 barely fits in the hole with the screw in the extreme extreme position. The retractable softbox works reasonably well, attaching to the mount by tension and friction rather than a…

Pros
  • New in my collection
Cons
  • Not bad

This softbox works great with the included S-type flash mount. But it is not clear how to attach the softbox to the mount or how to fold the softbox. The softbox attaches very tightly to the mount, with the four flaps or wings closest to the mount. There's also a video I tracked down on how to fold a softbox; I swear I watched this thing about 10 times before I finally got it right. Do not attempt to fold this item in front of customers for the first time :-/ Seems to be good value for money…

Nice inexpensive softbox for my flashes.

Time will tell how well this softbox will hold up, but for the price and performance I'm happy with it. Just received and installed today. Unfolding was easy, but folding back took some practice. Basically you have to unscrew it when you fold it back. It feels like you're damaging the supports inside, but it's very similar to taking apart reflectors (but more twisted). I chose not to use a small internal diffuser (to mitigate any "hot spots") as I need all the light I can get from my flash. A…

Works great, great price

I bought this softbox for a specific portrait shoot I was about to do. Photo in full growth. The processing is good and makes a quite solid impression. I think the fine details of fit and finish are a bit better on the much more expensive lightboxes, but it works well. I especially like the mount/ring. The clamp fits and holds the flash tightly and securely enough and is adjustable for different sizes of flash. I also like the fact that the ring is a standard Bowens style so I can add other…
