There are other products made of bamboo (T-shirts) and always noticed how it removes odors. it may or may not be bamboo, but there's really no way to tell. I can say it was nice but I accidentally got the XL and needed it to fit over my injured hand with a splint so it worked for that purpose. I wouldn't say it's a support sleeve, but it prevented pain in my injured elbow by providing a small, soft surface to rest on.
