Wicks not included.: Candles and candle holders

I bought a box of these candles last November. I received a box with metal washers but no wicks. Only five dollars and it was busy so I overlooked it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Fun making up for candles and holders

It was easy to make. I made 2 for a gift and 1 for myself. I used to make candles with wax and a wick, but it was much easier and the candle burned for 4 hours before the wick burned out. I would buy them again.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Hard to find commercially

These are larger floating wicks - I use them for Shabbat oil lamps and they work great. Yes, I could and sometimes do make my own, but it's a lot easier to use right away.

Easy to use, wicks last a long time.

User-friendly, simple concept. These floating cork wicks worked great and lasted a few hours before needing to be refilled and replaced. I would buy them again for other oil and floating candle projects.

  • Wide range
Cons

Excellent and durable.

I love little things like that. I read about it on the blog. These were instructions on how to make candles out of everyday objects. I used a glass jar with some dried woodland plants covered in water, then added a little 1/2 inch of grapeseed oil and the candle burned for two days with the oil still there. They are cool. I'll keep her close. This is a cheap candle that is easy to draw. They will be of great help to preppers. A gallon of oil and packing if the floating wicks last long.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Excellent - cheap - easy!

I'm used to Elazar and Lehman full-wick oil lamps that practically require a blowtorch to light. This will be the simple version. I still used olive oil but I was able to use a regular lighter and the flame would ignite instantly. I doused my wicks with oil and out of the 5 I lit one night I was able to light 4 the next night and 2 again the next night. There is no soot and it smells a little like you are cooking when stewing with oil. I use a salad oil jar (with a spout) to easily add oil and…

Excellent product in replacement wicks and trimmers

I find these little things amazing! In the 1970's there was a product called The Uncandle. It was essentially a small container, similar to the glass vase you use to keep hyacinth bulbs around the house. You filled it with water, poured some vegetable oil into it, put a wick like this on it and lit it. It's the same principle. You can turn anything into a candle/lamp! I have many different sized vases and containers that I have used with these little wicks and they look beautiful when lit and…
