Like magic! at Body Repair Tools

I made a mistake with the universal gearbox on my car and although I used a tube to protect the threads, the small socket head screws broke my shift knob. When I bought a nice knob designed for my switch, it didn't even start to screw up because it left a twisted mess. I jumped on Amazon and after reading a few reviews I got this one. It worked the way I hoped it would! I looked it up for maybe 5 minutes and it fixed years of abuse! I know I will be using many more and am so glad I made the…

Working well - tools and equipment

My first impression was a bit unimpressed, both by the packaging and the product itself. I think I remember saying to myself, "Is that it? I paid $50 for this?” I bought this for about 4 feet of solid thread that I cut on a cutoff saw when I got tired of putting one nut on one 10 foot pole and them about 4 feet on the other side guide where I had cut off just so I could chase threads. First impressions aside, this little thing works great. Every time I used it it went into the grooves quickly…

I was rebuilding a transmission from an old photo booth when I discovered that the 1/2" X 20 left hand thread end of the main driveshaft was damaged. I requested a 1/2" left hand hand thread. Yarn dye at a major hardware store but they didn't have it. I found this thread restorer at Revain and although it was quite expensive I decided to give it a try and the damaged part was out of stock. Although it took a while, about half an hour, I was able to save the shaft. Just make sure the size range…

got a job! . (Over time)

I had a screw (more like a threaded bolt) that attached the gear box to the jack frame of an old Craftsman jack model 328.12002 (made in Japan). It is over 32 years old and I have renewed the hydraulic cylinder. I messed up the thread on the pin by stupidly twisting it. At first there are only about 6 threads at the end of the pin. If your entry thread is damaged, you should probably place a tool next to the head of the bolt on the good thread and pull it back to try to "squeeze" and separate…
