Let me say that I know absolutely nothing about home networking. I had dial-up access for years because it wasn't available in my area (and I live in Silicon Valley!). When our cable company started selling it, we subscribed to it immediately. I found the Netgear router and card very handy and easy to use. I don't know what happened, but suddenly every day a reboot was required. I couldn't find any websites with the router installed, but after three or four tries they were suddenly found. Not allowed. I also noticed severe slowdowns even on a wired connection, and most websites opened incompletely. Went back to the modem with my firewall software. I even updated the firmware and changed the settings, no luck. I wouldn't even bother trying support based on Netgear support's crappy reviews…
