New Balance KJ990V4 Running Little Girls' Shoes for Athletic Review

I bought these because I've bought NBs for my son a number of times over the years, but the gray mesh paint on them is an odd shimmery ice slate with hints of blue. Not what I expected and for $75! (which I only spent because it's bloody hard to find tall boy shoes anywhere, let alone a nice neutral color that goes with everything, so I bought them when I found them).

This shoe is a large child size 3 but comes with a tag on the retail box that says "small child size 3". Shoe size is 9 3/8 inches long, 3.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches high. The upper of the shoe is made of leather and the laces are functional and do not stretch like the 680 design. It has a front tip, an upper logo and two side logos and a rear logo with reflective material, the light reflects car headlights. Color gray. Looks great! Manufactured with quality. This was for my son and he says it's comfortable. He wore it all day and didn't complain. I have the same New Balance and they are so comfortable!

Very good quality and appearance. My child is very picky about their shoes and needs a lot of room for their toes. These extra wide shoes are perfect. No other shoes could be found that fit their needs.

The only shoe my sensitive son finds comfortable. Seamless socks make mornings easy. They're expensive, but they don't wear out before he outgrows them.

The front is a little tight, but they fit in easily. 48 hours later and they fit perfectly. 10/10 I will order again if needed.

Unlike the photo, these shoes have laces, not velcro. The shoes still worked for my son but it wasn't what we expected and at this age shoelaces can be a hindrance for all day wear. However, they were comfortable and my son loves them.

My wife wears small shoes. Thanks to Foot Locker salesperson Laurel MC, she was introduced to your product. That fits well. She bought two pairs and would like to buy another pair, but she can't find the product anywhere. Please advise. Thanks!

Made in Taiwan. I thought New Balance would make over 900 shoes in America, but I was wrong. I know for a fact that some New Balances are made in the USA. Pink Live is much nicer than in the picture. I was surprised how much I liked her. They offer excellent arch support and are very comfortable. The sole is durable yet flexible and the shoe is lightweight. when i was looking for nb shoes with arch support i found these and got them but they are very uncomfortable, rough and without support. they only have a tiny very dry piece of cloth inside them so i had to put this silicone thing inside them so i can walk (they are very pretty but who cares if i can't walk in them for an hour because of pain, by the way they are too wide for a medium fit)

It appears to be a comfortable, supportive shoe. As a grown woman who still has to wear children's shoes, I find it very difficult to find something that fits. I hope New Balance continues to make at least one or two styles that aren't pink and shiny!

I really like the shoes but I ordered the light gray 990 V4 which is the size my son normally wears and the shoes fell about a half size 2 small off (length). I went back to order a different size and they were sold out. I ended up ordering the NB 888 in Dark Gray (Magnet) and they are even better with better support than the newer 990.

I've been buying new sneakers for my kids for a few years now. The new v4 from the 990's just isn't good. The quality has gone down, the fit is different, the shoes fall apart completely in less than 2 months. The stitching is torn, there is a hole in the mesh above the shoe etc. What's really embarrassing is that the cost of these v4s has gone up a lot compared to the v3. When the quality returns I will check it out.
