So I bought this as a present for my niece's 5th birthday. She opened the box and was instantly bored with it, but after her older nephew set the microphone for her, she basically just ran around the house yelling at him. She liked it, and she continues to speak for all occasions and sometimes sing. Her dad had one of those "thank you for the gift" kind of thing when his forehead vein popped out of his head. Virtually a victory on all fronts.

Not what I expected. Must be paired with a phone. Instructions are not easy to follow. The sound quality is also not very good. On a whim I bought this for my daughter as a birthday present. This gift became an instant hit. It was easy to set up and she ran and sang and played music. It was so much fun that her older siblings came along too. The children played with the microphone for about 4 hours over two days. It was easy to pair, adjust volume, skip songs and set up an echo effect too. I was willing to give this product a 5 star rating.
