Excellent mount that works great for both Milky Way photography and normal conditions. It's lightweight, well built, which saves weight and space when hiking.

The Z plate was a good addition to my star tracking system. I liked how light and compact the product is and how easily it fits in my pocket. Nice design plus the ability to slightly extend the handles if they get caught under something. It supported the weight of my camera well and the movement of the levers was very smooth.

Great idea, but not very well done. Azimuth degrees are written backwards (270 versus standard 90 for ease of reading). Lever gauges are almost invisible. The elevation angles need to be corrected before attaching to the base as the arm adjustment is locked after attaching to the base. So I'm giving 2 stars for the concept of a great little gadget but I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it in this condition. More trouble than it's worth. Maybe later when the manufacturer cooperates

This is a really great product with features that other similar products don't have (eg panning) and it's very reliable. Exactly what you would expect from something Alyn Wallace helped design. Also, I've seen reviews where users complain that the adjustment knobs press against what the platform is attached to and prevent tightening. It is not true. For my slider I bought a cheaper Z-mount from a known low-cost company. I wanted to be able to tilt the camera to any position on the slider, but always be level.
