I got this to replace the stock headphone cable that came with my AKG K240S. The outer insulation cracked and split open where the wire goes into the 3-pin connector right where it plugs into the headphones. These are a lot more durable in my opinion. I will say that the shipping was a lot faster than expected. It shipped from within my state, instead of coming in from another state or overseas. I got this within 2 days of ordering and not 1 week later. So, I'm happy! :-)Update 03-20-2022…

So it’s a cable for a very rare use case: if you need a replacement for an AKG K7xx or K700 headphone. Since that connects to the headset with a mini-XLR connection and this has it, it works great!The only downside is the cable length which was a bit shorter than the original cable.The K7xx are the comfiest and best audio quality pair of cans I’ve used so it was well worth getting a replacement cable.

This replacement cable for my AKG 240 headphones was perfect, and it just plugged in. The only 'con' is that the cable is substantially shorter than the original cable. On the other hand, the cable itself is covered in a metal mesh that makes it much sturdier, and the shortness causes less tangling.

I purchased this cable to use on my AKG K271 headphones. I wanted a shorter cable so I could sit at the computer with the headphones on and not have a lot of extra cable getting in the way. This cable is very high quality. It attaches securely and easily onto the K271 headphones. The cable is covered in a very nice sturdy braided material. This will make a loud scraping noise at the slightest brush against anything. Otherwise it's a fine enough cable, but in most situations I'll be sticking with the stock cable.

Originally purchased this to replace the stock cable on my AKG that started going bad after about 3 years, leaving me with one ear intermittently going out. Was initially just supposed to be temporary since I needed it ASAP and this had next day Prime shipping, and planned to only use it for a week or so until I could do some research and find a quality cable. Ended up having no complaints, eventually forgot about replacing it, and here I am 1 year and 9 months later before it started going bad

When I ordered this cable I didn't really need to "upgrade" just wanted something better than what came with my AKG K240 and man is this better. "Upgrade" I don't know, depends on how you see that word but as replacement or better than what comes in the box of the headset then yes it is a very good upgrade. 10/10 Would reccomend.
