MDF with vinyl sticker. They aren't nested intuitively, only along long paths, as in Fig. I thought they could nest horizontally as well, but that's not the case. It's kind of a struggle to get them to invest vertically. This item is *very* overpriced for what it is and the amount you can store on it. You'd better buy your own wood grain MDF and vinyl decal.

All the ads are lies. It is a laminated chipboard or Formica MDF. This is not solid wood. And the pattern is pine, not bamboo. The corners are simply shaved with Formica and a different color. And the stain on the line is rustic with large black spots. Driving screws is not easy as the legs get in the way of a modest length screwdriver. Easy assembly is the biggest joke. In this picture I have a small screwdriver and it was still too big to tighten the screws so I grabbed one of those small screwdrivers that come free with the assembly things and it wasn't wide enough to tighten it reach. good grip and turning screws. I couldn't tighten the screws at all due to lack of space leaving it wobbly knowing the board would crack and break if I put weight on it as it probably wasn't assembled.
