Description of Next Danco HYR271T Hydroright Handle

WATER-SAVING TOILET FLUSH VALVE: The HydroRight replacement toilet flush valve easily converts most standard toilets into a dual-flush water-saving toilet which uses up to 70% less water for liquids and paper. REPAIRS COMMON LEAKY TOILET ISSUES: Eliminates the most common problems in toilets that cause leaks as this flush valve replaces a worn-out toilet flapper, chain and handle which can often break. LEVER STYLE HANDLE: Includes lever style split handle flush activator that gives you a choice to use the quick-flush setting which uses less water volume for liquids and paper or the full-flush setting which uses the normal full flush water volume to accommodate solids. COMPATIBILITY: Fits 1.6 to 3.5+ GPF (gallons per flush) standard 2-piece toilets with 2 in. flush valve and requires 10-inch minimum clearance from highest point of the flush valve opening to the inside of the tank lid; Note: Will NOT FIT Mansfield toilets and is not compatible. EASY NO-TOOLS REQUIRED INSTALLATION: Simple Drop-in installation without tools in less than 20 minutes with NO TANK REMOVAL required. BUILT TO LAST: Constructed of durable plastic and the Perma fit silicone seal is chemical resistant and will not warp.

Works with some installation work

I bought this because I'm tired of watching all day long how much water is used for every 'number 1'. The installation guide was pretty basic, although it wasn't exactly easy. It took some time for the silicone gasket to line up with the drain hole and prevent constant draining. It also took some time to adjust the small flush to just enough to empty the bowl. There are some routing issues to avoid a float on my side flush toilet. The flush grip consists of two parts and requires some training…

Don't like the button? Upgrade to it! New to Dual Flush? Get that, not 270.

First I installed the HYR270 (green wire, split button flush) and also replaced the fill valve. Installation was easy, in fact, setting the water level took longer than actually installing the device. We've been trying to work with the button for a few weeks but found it difficult to press and also hides behind the toilet lid making it difficult to operate. I bought a BlueSource HYR270 HydroRight dual flush plug-in from MJSI in 2010 but wasn't sure if it would fit and was only able to install…

Advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, this product has its pros and cons. I bought several of these because of the design. All new cisterns are filled with less water, about half as much as old cisterns, apparently for environmental reasons. The more gallons in the tank, the easier waste drains, which is why I'm replacing all of my toilets with this design. The water from the normal value of the damper comes out at the side, when the damper is lifted, this type drops the water, so it has more power to pull the drop…
