Wrong parts - TWICE

I ordered part #17350. The fork and fasteners were different thread types, the fork was M10x1.5 and the hardware was 3/8-16. I submitted a replacement request which was promptly granted and I received the unit with the same issue. The seller must open each unit in stock to ensure this is not a problem.

  • Decent performance

Saved a lot of work

I had a rusty exhaust stud on my 2007 Saturn. Why is the exhaust system made of stainless steel with steel flanges and fittings?!? I wanted to drill out the old bolt and put the bolt in, but it was in an awkward spot. Noticing this clip, I decided that $30 was a small price to pay to save a few hours under the car in mid-August. It worked great. It is durable and well designed. He's been there for three months now and seems to be holding up well.

Saved many hours of swearing and crying

Broken exhaust turbo bolt on my '06 Volvo xc70, of course nothing can be easy in the world of cars. The bolt snapped in flush with the turbine housing so I couldn't grab it with a vise and pull it out. I tried drilling it out and using a light extraction, of course it didn't work. Told to screw it in and tried to drill the screw all the way out and use a bolt and nut, there wasn't much room to put the drill in there and the drill eventually broke. bitten off in the middle of the bolt, luckily…

Works like a charm and others have reported great long term results.

Yes, it's really just the glorified screw clamp. However, it does have a few nifty little features that help it adapt to a range of unconventional situations. The kit includes some additional parts that can help position the clip depending on whether the broken bolt is recessed or partially open. I ended up using 2 of these with one distributor bolt remaining. Works like a charm and others have reported great long term results. I also love that they are designed, forged and made in the USA! The thread does not match and the clamp may need to be modified.

Both ends of the clamp are threaded and only one end accepts the supplied hardware. Luckily I was able to search my Bin O' Spare Bolts to find something suitable. I also had to modify the part that screws onto the long screw. The bolt to be repaired was broken, this part of the yoke was too long and made contact with the sheared bolt and not with the flange as intended. If I had left it, the yoke would just clamp onto the sheared bolt (no contact with the flange to hold it). A minute later, the
