resin should go into a slot in the windshield. You have to force the liquid into the crack and to do that I heated the other side of the broken glass with a lighter. Then I applied the resin and let it extrude into the glass. After that I put the car in the sunlight to let the resin harden. Finally, I trimmed away the excess material with the included blade. The repair was good enough for me.
