It works well and has the ability to hold down the trigger.

I have a Nikon 5600 which is not compatible with the average packaged remote control. This works well and has the option to hold the shutter button down with a sliding button lock. I use it for macro and night shots.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Just right for long exposures!

Good long cable, allows you to take one or more shots. Bought for my Nikon D5600, works great. The only minor issue is that the zip tie restricts the movement of the folding screen due to the position of the port it's on. It was used to take this shot of the night sky in Peru near Mount Salkantay.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Great for long exposures

I bought this camera because I wanted to go to the arctic and needed a remote control to take amazing pictures of the northern lights. It worked perfectly even at -15°C at night with several layers of gloves. The best part was the locking feature so I could press it, lock it and then leave it for 20 minutes after which I could just let go. Again, all in multiple layers of gloves on a cold arctic night.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Easy Peasy in the accessories

I am very satisfied with this remote control. Speaking of ease of use, it was just plug and play with my Z6. Seriously, I took it out of the box, plugged it into the camera and it worked. Works the same as the trigger. Half press to focus, full press to shoot. The cable could be a little longer. A meter (about 39 inches) isn't enough for self-portraits, but that's what wireless remote controls are made for, right? I used it mainly for long exposures and it's perfect for that!

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

The Nikon 25395 MC-DC2 Remote Control Cable is dependable when you need it!

I was planning to take long distance shots of the 4th of July fireworks in the Las Vegas Valley. During this time of COVID-19, it was important to maintain social distance from the crowds, so I chose the view from a high-rise to capture the fireworks. I've used other brands but they weren't as well constructed and these cables ended up breaking. This is a genuine Nikon brand. It's a bit more expensive. However, this was not an opportunity I could afford to pass up! I am very pleased with the…

Worked great! So: Accessories

Used it two days ago to photograph flashes in low light. Worked great! So there really isn't anything wrong with this product, but I can't help but think there must be a better way to trigger the shutter. Like button style. A pistol grip would be handy, and yes, I don't mean a $300 pistol grip tripod head. . . although these are good too. But that's what I thought when I filmed the lightning strikes; ) Also great for shutter lock, continuous shooting, long exposure video/interval shooting. This

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good buy: digital camera accessories

Purchased for use with the D90. There are several ways to take a picture without pressing your camera's shutter button: -i.) Use a timer in your cameraii.) Use a wireless remote control. iii.) Use a wired remote control. Of the three options above, I would like to explain why this wired remote control is the best of them all: -1.) It is much more reliable than a wireless remote control. I have a wireless device, but if the angle isn't right, you can't get the trigger either. Wireless requires a

Much better design than the previous version

About a year ago I bought an Opteka remote shutter release for my Nikon D3100. When I received it, the first thing I noticed was that the plug on the shutter button didn't want to go into the GPS socket on the camera without a lot of effort. That should have been my first clue. I installed it and sharing seemed to work fine. I could open it up for star photography or just use it normally. After about the third time I removed the connector from the camera body, the metal collar surrounding the…
