Experiment with this lens in a quiet photo shoot

One of the best lenses I have, I always try to use it for fun, not recommended for serious events like weddings as it doesn't have auto focus there and you can lose many moments. Also, never use it in 1.2, try 2.0

Pros
  • Consistent results in testing
Cons
  • Empty

Nice lens. on camera & photo

Nice lens flare. Dreamy effect and beautiful stolen moments if you get it right. However, the depth of field is so shallow that it is difficult to capture even with a focus assist. Don't shoot moving subjects and plan what you want to shoot. That is, to photograph buildings, landscapes or common plots. All of this points to the fact that now that I have it I can't remove it from the camera (I film the d750).

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some bugs

Almost perfect: lenses for cameras

A wonderful lens, now I use it more often than others. Very, very well done and I always get impressive results. I love the ability to open at f/1.2. For those looking for a larger aperture and a very well built lens without breaking the bank this is pretty much a bargain lol. The only issue I've had is slightly low saturation in low light (although this may just be an issue with my camera, I doubt it's the lens). Almost perfect as you can get for such a good price.

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • I doubt

Awesome on my Z6 - Camera and Photo

Received a brand new Nikon 50mm 1.2 and Mute Adapter yesterday. Picked it up on my Z6 in New York today to try it out. I was really afraid that I paid more than the price of the S50mm 1.8 and would end up regretting my purchase. I have to admit that getting used to the extremely shallow depth of field at f/1.2 was difficult, there is still work to be done, but I am so glad I chose this lens, although I'm sure it's optical Z-Mount 50mm is far from new, but the fun and artistic factor is much…

Pros
  • Complete Set
Cons
  • Clarity

A really wonderful lens. As everyone else has said

A really great lens. As everyone else has said, f/1.2 and 1.4 are very soft. You will only find these holes useful in certain situations. Wide open, it creates an ethereal, dreamy, film-like image with vignetting. At f/1.8, images are razor sharp and deliver the image you'd expect from a digital camera. I personally like the looks of the 1.2, but not everyone appreciates its otherworldliness. Don't buy this for extra light, only buy this if you want a ruffled effect. I think I would choose…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I have no idea what "fixed zoom" means. This is a 50mm lens. No zoom. Period. However, I received it today and took some test shots that led me to believe that I would be just as happy with this 50mm Nikon manual focus lens as I was with my 28mm AI-S manual focus lens. Great glass, metal, no plastic so it's old school Nikon design and build. I have a Nikon 50mm f/1.8G which was a lot cheaper but never really impressed me so I don't use it. As reviewers warn, this is a slick lens. Very shallow…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Very interesting lens

This is a bit of a fancy lens, in a good way. In the sense that once you get a feel for what he does (and doesn't do), you'll get some great results. This is absolutely NOT a lens that will give consistent results across the entire aperture range. Take a shot at f/1.2 and you'll see what I mean. Shoot wide open with this lens and you'll get heavy vignetting, soft shapes and contours, and very soft corners. These problems quickly disappear and at f/2 they are almost invisible to the average…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Has flaws

Wow, that's an incredibly fast manual lens!

UPDATE: Having been shooting with this lens for two years now I can add to my review and say that this is still my favorite lens. I agree with others who say that sharpness at the widest f1.2 is less than f/1.4 and f/1.8, but if you're using wide open then artistic effects are what you're after and so not a huge issue . And one of the problems is user focus error - wide open, it's very relentless to focus error - the plane of focus is so flat that if you miss even a little, you can be far away.

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • It's hard to remember but it was
